Bengal Enamel Works LTD
27. June 2020
Bengal Enamel Works Limited had a large factory just outside Calcutta.
They produced a long row of enamel signs and products.
The Indian army bought their Enamel plates from Bengal Enamel Works, and the factory also produced the “ESSO Elephant Kerosene” signs that were common all over India and Sri Lanka.
The firm started on April the 6th 1921 and closed sometime in 2004.
Today the Enamel factory still stands, but the only part of the building in use, is the small post office, that still bares the factory’s name.
If you have any information about the company and their old factory, pleas share, by adding a comment below.
